University of Lübeck – Open Air Cooler
The existing cooling control centre was expanded with a second cooler unit including a re cooling plant. The decentralized missing cold generation of each building was built back in. Due to the year-round cooling demand of the pre-clinical institutes, the system was equipped with an outside temperature-guided open air cooler. At sufficiently low outside temperatures, the cold water provides energy saving cooling. The open air cooling has also been optimized for the reduced cooling load of the building in the winter. The new facilities were interconnected hydraulically and control technically with the existing system.
