Leuphana University Lüneburg – New Central Building
A new central building on the campus is planned as part of the realignment of the Leuphana University of Lüneburg. The new central building (approximately 17,600 sq operational area) with maximum auditorium, research and seminar centres, a student facility foyer, café and multifunctional and exhibit spaces and a 500 m² machine laboratory will be the new core of the entire campus. The cutting-edge design of the central building has been worked out by Daniel Libeskind and forms a highly complex structure with steep walls and roofs in places. Highest standards are applied in the realisation of energy optimisation. The building is among other things a demonstration construction project of the federal ministry of economics in the EnoB funding line – energy-optimized building.
