New Building of an Air Traffic Control Tower – Hamburg Airport
A new ground radar system was installed at the site of the Hamburg Airport. This provides additional security for the entire airfield site. Additional antenna systems were provided due to the location and height of the building. It’s a not permanently manned radar location which is used in particular for maintenance and troubleshooting. The antenna height is 45 M above ground. The site was designed so that the radar technology in the tower head and the supply technology at the base of the tower was housed in a space cell.
The building consists of a concrete shaft structure with an overhead technical pulpit. Inside there is a staircase and an elevator. The supply lines were led inside a F90 shaft to the pulpit. The system was integrated into the infrastructure of the Hamburg airport.
